Meet me, 10 years on
Breaking free of failure and shame to reconnect with my true vision; a 16-month process.
The intersection of mindfulness, imagination, technology and design to bring out positive change and prosperity for people and planet.
I’ve been honing in on my version of the real me, uninterrupted, in the context of my work — which is the core of my expression, and why I felt so pulled to re-start coaching with Gisele Gambi. It’s full circle as it’s been 10 years and as if on cue, I’m launching a new school — Faster Zebra — fasterzebra.com.
Failure and shame have been deep themes that had all but consumed me over the past 16 months. As I begin to release the shackles of self-doubt and learn to calm the sheer terror of going public again, I’ve found a softer space where the visions are coming back and I can see the beauty, the interconnectedness — and the importance — of my work so far.
Until this week, I was judging my recent work as having too many discrete and disparate efforts. Of course the public and private “feedback” aka criticism I was receiving matched my self-judgement. I no longer agree with public criticism, nor my own self-criticism. The demons and imps that came to me during a recent Breath-work experience represented all that I feared; real or imagined. Beaming so much love to all the fears, the doubts, the anger, the shame, the regret, the darkness and the light.
Make yourselves a nice cuppa. Here’s me and here’s what I’ve seen for a long time.
This is me, uninterrupted.
CORE VISION: Education
The new branding is complete and I am still finalising LMS behind the new website. The name is Faster Zebra — a school of the future that teaches emerging skills in areas such as UX, Growth, Service Design. The curriculum will integrate AI and Web3, and as a first for a design/tech school, I’m integrating mediation and mindfulness into the curriculum.
Education for all — I believe it’s possible. In our pioneering Each 1 Give 1 model, each paid student automatically sponsors a student who’s living in a disadvantaged reality.
Projects that students undertake as part of their learning are with real life clients who are solving environmental, human or social challenges.
This is more than education; it’s about giving students an insight into their own power through their Dharma, and teaching them the skills to birth solutions to the most pressing of human and planetary challenges that we’re all facing — the wicked problems we’ve all contributed to.
Faster Zebra is about bringing forth a community that is ready, willing and able to birth countless combinations of possibility as students and teachers collaborate and focus their collective effort, their collective passion, their collective Love for the betterment of all life.
Faster Zebra is not just a school; it’s a movement. It’s a movement that will challenge education models and birth a new generation of change-makers. Heart, mind and soul.
Whether consciously or subconsciously, students and teachers will get a glimpse of their Godness and breathe life into the weary, overused and abused cliché “Education can change the world”
People and Planet — God and Mother Earth.
Imagine if … and Create.
SUPPORTING VISION 1: Games and activism.
Once I am ready to launch Faster Zebra, I’ll also re-engage my game developers to get the flagship game under way — a movement based geolocation game that gets people moving, completing missions, learning along the way — and getting rewarded for it.
The message from my meditations has come through quite firmly that this is an important part of the vision, and I’ll incorporate the thousands and thousands of geolocation-based factual records that I’ve assembled. These records of endangered animals, insects, plants, dinosaurs and mythical creatures form part of this activity based play-to-earn game called Explore.
In the container of Planet Neo, the web2/3 reward mechanisms will allow players to complete missions and by doing so, earn rewards such as tokens, credits for Faster Zebra courses and any number of partner prizes.
My brands will be woven into the game, leveraging the volumes of factual data, including geolocation markers, that has been collected over the last few years.
01: Dino X Dino — dinosaurs with a message “don’t let endangered animals become extinct”
02: Alt Saints — superheroes for the planet. A group of 5 “Alternative Saints” each representing a different environmental category and movement: Beasts, Trees, Bees & Seas … and Breathe.
03: Momo & Yeti — monsters and mythical creatures whose message is “your past doesn’t dictate your future” #youbeyou
SUPPORTING VISION 2: Often Human Podcast
I’ve been sitting on my podcast vision “Often Human” — Mortals, Machines, Minds and Magic, which will launch in 2024.
Often Human is a world where you’ll meet creators and doers who are recreating reality both inside us and around us, improving life for people and the planet we share. I’ll cover topics ranging from technology, environment and plant-medicines — basically anything that’s shifting our reality and bringing us closer to our Godness … “the Kingdom of Heaven is within you”
I want people to see themselves in other creators and leaders and take inspired action to tackle their own ego and push forth, embracing their humanness and tapping into their Godness.
THE UNDERPINNING VISION: A pool of inspired talent
Velvet Onion & Friends, my digital agency that I craved to bring back to life after many trials and tribulations, has begun to come back to life. Clients who’ve been following my journey are reconnecting with me and the work ahead is exciting. The team will work on client work and they’ll also be directed into the school, the game, the podcast during structured as well as beach time.
This is how I envision bringing life and love into the whole picture.
It’s a bold, audacious and borderline insane vision. There’s no time to be conservative any longer — for any of us. The world needs boldness; she needs audacity; she needs ferocious insanity to go head first into solution mode.
I can’t do this alone. I don’t want to do this alone. I won’t do this alone. I love community. I am community.
If you’ve read this far, this post was inspired by a 5-year old boy named Charbel.
Sending you all so much love ❤️
You and what you see could never be too much. ❤️
